Our story
Long before Harmony Senior Referrals was founded, Walt was just a husband doing his best in an impossible situation.
In her early 50s, his first wife was diagnosed with early onset dementia. What followed was a 15 year journey filled with confusion, exhaustion, and heartbreaking uncertainty. Like so many families today, Walt found himself asking, "Why isn't there someone to help us through this?"
It wasn't until his wife's condition became unsafe to manage at home that he made the painful decision to place her in a memory care community. And something remarkable happened. She was finally content. She was cared for, safe, and even happy again.
Years later, Walt discovered senior placement services, something he wishes he had known about when he needed it most. Though it was too late to help his own family, he realized it was not too late to help yours.
Walt's experience shaped everything we do at Harmony. We know the emotional weight, the confusion, and the fear of making the wrong decision, because we have lived it. That is why Harmony exists: to make sure no other family has to face this journey alone.
